There is no spoon February 16, 2010 sk8erkeef (UK) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
Well I've owned a 360 pretty much since it was launched. In that time MS have replaced it twice (free of charge). Now, on my third Red Ring Of Death, the console is out of warranty so it's cheaper to buy an Arcade and simply transfer my hard drive.
The console says copyright 2009 so it's one of the latest but I can't tell if it has the Jasper chip set. Having said that I simply can't believe how much quieter it is than my old one. It also has the HDMI socket which gives a slightly better picture on my TV than component.
I own a PS3, 360 and Wii: The Wii only ever gets played at parties; The PS3 gets used for watching DVDs and Blu-ray disks and for playing PS3 exclusive games but I much prefer the user interface of the xbox and the controller fits my hands better. I would recommend the xbox to anyone from parents buying for young children to 'hardcore' gamers who don't need my recommendation anyway.
If you're wondering about getting an xbox without a hard drive, it's really not worth it because it's far more expensive to buy a hard drive later and you will almost certainly want a hard drive at some point. But if you want to upgrade from an old machine (keeping the old hard drive) then this is a bargain.
Thoroughly recommended and a bargain.
Really happy with jasper model January 26, 2010 Mr. Daniel Cartledge 31 out of 33 found this review helpful
I can confirm this is the Jasper model.
My old xbox died on me so just bought this as a replacement since it was out of warranty and I am amazed at how quiet it is compared to my launch console.
I just hope with these models are less prone to RROD.
Oh and delivery was great received the next day at 9.30 am - thanks Amazon! :)

If you'r trying to buy an Xbox 360, but you don't have the right money to buy an Elite, then buy this. Later you can buy the 60GB pack with includes headphones, internet cable and 3 months Gold Live.
About the console itself: controller is awesome; the 360 is very nice and you'll have fun with it!
Great console now that it has matured. February 17, 2010 G. Lewis 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Hi peeps, this is more than a comment than a review.
I ordered the Arcade version from this page Monday evening, came 12pm yesterday using express delivery, the console itself was well packaged and the box was in pristine condition, anyway - on to the bit I really wanted to post about - The 360 I received had the Jasper Motherboard with 512MB of internal memory instead of the 256mb stated so that was a nice surprise (I'm guessing the description is a little out of date), people shopping for Xbox 360's should aim to get a Jasper version of the console as it uses alot less power, runs alot cooler (Jasper's are said to eliminate the RROD once and for all) and is a little less noisy than the the Falcon (2nd gen 360 hardware) and the Xenon (1st gen 360 hardware)
Of course you can't really tell what you are going to get when shopping online but considering Jasper's have been around for quite awhile now and Amazon's page mentions the consoles they stock are late 2009 models (Arcade editions anyway), you have an extremely high chance of getting one.
Looking for the memory card? January 19, 2010 C. X. Linton-Willoughby (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Xbox 360 Arcade Console has an internal 256 MB memory chip.
This is not a 'memory card' in the way that some customers may understand it. It is not missing.
